philipchudyfineart.com was created to be a bare-bones warehouse for 'gallery style' fine art images by Philip Chudy. These include photography, drawing and other media.
The current site kicked off with an initial retrospective selection of archival photo prints.and traditional media (drawings). The new 'Digital Scans' section features recent scans of some of my oldest film negatives of Zimbabwe. The site will expand to include other later scans from other places and now serves at a source for current fine art images and projects . Further work may be viewed on www.philipchudy.com.
New Photography:This section will feature raw work in progress as well as mature gallery edits.
Digital Scans: I am producing premium high resolution files which are ideal for large prints. I am excited about digital post production which permits me to fine tune tonal values to an extent never possible with traditional silver photo printing. To retain a sense of stylistic consistency I have begun scanning/reprocessing 'early Zimbabwe photographs'. From now on I expect to progress through the balance my large collection of negatives, working within project/locality groupings, rather adhering solely to a strict 'when shot' calendar.
Silver Photo Prints: These images were featured in a series of large solo gallery shows during the 1990s in Scotland, England, Holland and Germany.
The collection, which was mainly sourced from 8x10" large format film is printed on 16x20" traditional gold and selenium toned silver print stock, framed to 20x24". The images in these particular galleries were created by from the original framed prints rather than scanned negatives. Other photo images by Philip Chudy - www.philipchudy.com and www.motorimageworks.com include automotive, CGI special effects, regular advertising and more recent photo art .
Drawings: These images are a retrospective collection. Media: Rotring technical pen on paper. Newer digital drawings will eventually be featured.
theblog:Just a regular blog, destined to expand the content of this site www.philipchudyfineart.com/theblog
